TRANSFORMING DATA INTO IMPACT SERIES

Our three-part pre-recorded online training series will empower you with the data skills to advance justice, tell impactful stories, and much more! Whether you work in advocacy, academia, nonprofit, the public sector, the private sector, or have a role in communications, operations, or program management, this training is for you and your team! In today's challenging landscape, data is more crucial than ever, whether it's making informed decisions for your organization or persuading a funder to invest in your next program. This training series will help you accelerate your work and support your community!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • There are people in your data. In part one, we'll explore data beyond spreadsheets and charts to lay the foundation for building strong data systems and structures for your organization. We'll shift focus on how we interact with data by centering the people it represents. We'll empower you to assess and implement best practices in understanding and communicating the human impact of your work.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this training, you will:

    • Review and expand your knowledge of data, data systems, and data tools that build the foundation for your work.

    • Explore data justice, ethical data practices, and research methods that center communities

    • Identify risks and cybersecurity/data-safety tools and best practices

    • Assess your current data practices and identify areas to strengthen Data Justice in your work and with your organization.

  • What we choose to measure shapes the story of our growth and impact. In part two, we'll delve deep into designing metrics to tell a compelling story about your organization's impact and work. We'll also dive into working with data and creating data structures and systems applicable across tools. By honing your ability to identify and collect meaningful data, you will be empowered to tell the stories that matter most to you and your stakeholders.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this training, you will:

    • Identify and design metrics that align with organizational mission, vision, and values.

    • Design metrics that clearly and intentionally tell the story of your organization's work and impact, and differentiate which metrics can be used to reach various stakeholders.

    • Design metrics to support and inform meaningful decision-making.

    • Utilize Google tools to collect and organize data.

  • With a strong foundation, you can build a lasting impact. In the final part in the training series, you will learn the practical elements of creating a strong data culture in your teams and organizations and explore tools to support your reporting goals. Participants will also learn how to leverage data to engage funders, shape new initiatives, and push for deeper investments in their work, ensuring their impact continues to grow and evolve. By the end, you'll have the skills and will be given a resource toolbox to tell the story of your data and use it as a blueprint to shape your organization's future.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this training, you will:

    • Assess and leverage data to support future funding and programming.

    • Implement data practices and tools and achieve team buy-in.
