Join Instituto and data experts for our 1st ever Data Lockdown!

For lots of organizations, the thought of cleaning up or structuring their data can be scarier anything else they’ll run in to this Halloween, but it’s also something that can set us up for greater success in 2020. For this workshop, we’ll not only be watching scary movies and eating pizza, but you’ll have data experts on hand to help you troubleshoot your data needs and find solutions.

Here are some things you’ll be able to do at the lockdown, depending on your data needs:

  • Establish a segmentation structure that clearly supports your engagement model

  • Identify the best platform or tools to track your data

  • Do or learn to do data hygiene

  • Get feedback on your data practices for security and performance

COSTUMES AND/OR COMFORTABLE CLOTHES ARE ENCOURAGED, BUT NOT REQUIRED!

This is a workshop so you can leave whenever you’re done or stay and finish the movies with us!

This session is a workshop where you can gain hands-on experience on creating graphic content and get direct feedback from design and communications experts that will be on-hand. The first session will cover mostly theory or creating engaging content and have different exercises for differing levels of experience with design concepts and tools. DESCRIPTION:

Content creation is such an important skill for all organizations, but limited resources or capacity can make it difficult. Often, there is only one person within an organization dedicating any time to creating the content that is supposed to help us win support. Whether you’re just beginning to design or someone with more experience that want’s to make sure they’re keeping up on best practices and trends, it can be very helpful to get feedback from experts with communications and design-eyes to make sure we’re putting our “best foot forward” in connecting with the community.

In this workshop we will :

  • Learn about design principles

  • Get individual expert review on past design(s)

  • Learn about simple and easy tools that can make designing more efficient or effective

  • Connect with other content creators who work in social justice, progressive politics, and organizing

Many of us avoid having difficult conversations. They are awkward, produce anxiety, and it’s easier to avoid them altogether. But oftentimes these exchanges are meaningful conversations that can help us move forward, and they can be critical in creating a healthy, productive environments of respect and accountability.

In this training we will cover:

  • How to confront our fears when having a difficult conversation

  • Best practices to move the conversation in a positive and productive direction

  • Establishing organizational norms that allow difficult conversations to be less stressful for both the initiator and others

  • How to follow-up after having a difficult conversation
